CC DONNA COULTER MD 37 Council Chairperson Donna
Coulter has been a member of the Family of Lionism since 1970 when she joined
the Ponoka Lioness in Ponoka, Alberta. In 1980, after her family moved to
Grande Prairie, Alberta she helped form the Grande Prairie Trumpeter Lioness and
was a member of that club until 1989 when she accepted an invitation to join the
Grande Prairie Lions.
Since becoming a Lion, she’s served most of the club
offices, been a zone chairperson numerous times, served on Districts 37G and 37L
cabinets and as District Governor for 37G in 1995-96. In May, 2009 she was
elected to serve as Multiple District 37 Council Chairperson for 2009-2010.
Lion Donna has received a number of Lions awards including
a Judge Brian Stevenson Fellowship, a Bill Webber Fellowship, a three diamond
Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship, a Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides
Fellowship, two Lion Clubs International Leadership medals, a Lions Clubs
International President’s medal and President’s Certificates of Appreciation.
She is a member of the Multiple District 37 Hall of Fame. She has been an
instructor at Lions Clubs International Leadership and Faculty Development
Institutes. She had been a presenter at several USA/Canada Lions Leadership
Forums and was on the Planning Committee for the USA/Canada Lions Leadership
Forum held in Saskatoon in September, 2008.

Chairperson Lynne and they have two married sons and two granddaughters.

PDG BEN APELAND
Ben joined Bozeman Gallatin
Empire Lions Club in 1974. Following a two year break to pursue a career
opportunity, he rejoined Gallatin Empire in 1980. Ben has held all Club level
positions throughout the years. His District level activities include Cabinet
and Zone chair positions, Vice District Governor, and District Governor. He
also served on the MD37 Council as Finance Chair. A Certified Guiding Lion, Ben
has attended numerous Lions Club International Conventions, USA/Canada Forums,
and the Lions Leadership Institute. The International President’s Leadership
medal, three International President Certificates of Appreciation, and numerous
Presidential Awards are included in his long list of Lions Club
accomplishments. A Melvin Jones Fellow and Monarch with 25 years perfect
attendance, Ben serves as Trustee on the Montana Lions Sight & Hearing
Foundation, a presenter on the faculty of the MD37 District Governors School,
and a member of the Transfusion, Transition, Transformation team.
A professional bench jeweler
with a background in Business Administration and Accounting, Ben owns and
operates his independent retail jewelry store. His dedicated and professional
staff shares in the opportunity to contribute to the momentous occasions of his
loyal customers while attending to their jewelry needs

DISTRICT GOVERNOR TOM HODGSON
Lion Tom spent his early years in Port Hope, On.; the oldest of four boys in the
Hodgson family, he was always active in sports and worked summers on his
grandparent's family farm.
His interest in agriculture prompted him to
enroll at the University of Guelph from which graduated in 1970. His working
career has taken him from Almonte, to Campbellford, Port Hope, Peterborough,
Toronto and Ottawa, On. where he finished his work experience as Chief of Field
Programs for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in 1998.
He Joined Lions in February, 1971. During the same
year he married Gayle. Fatherhood soon followed with two sons being born. He has
served in many clubs as Lions Tamer, Director, Vice President, Treasurer,
Secretary and President. In 1984-85 he was elected to serve as Zone Chairman for
Zone 10 South of District A-3.
Within the Districts of A-3 and A4 , Tom has chaired
the Leo Club and Effective Speaking Committees. His involvement with youth a has
also given him the privilege of acting as the MDA Chairman for Leo Clubs and he
has received several Extension Awards for his work in establishing new Leo
Clubs.
From 2004-2007, he was the MDA Youth Opportunities
Chair, which coordinates the activities of Peace Poster, Leo Clubs, Youth
Exchange, Lions Quest and Effective Speaking and was also the Sight First II
coordinator for his zone. In 2007 he received a Melvin Jones Fellowship, a
Knight of Strength, Top 5 Award for CFS II, and International President's
Certificate of Appreciation and Multiple District Certificate for Youth
Opportunities. He is also a Helen Keller Fellow, Lions Foundation Life member
and an LCI Life member.
During 2005-06, he was proud to accompany Lion Gayle
in her travels as A-3 District Governor. Life changed for Tom with Gayle's death
in May 2006 and he made a decision to move west in 2007. He now enjoys his new
surroundings in Edmonton being near hs two sons, daughter-in-law and three
grandchildren, meeting Lions and beginning new friendships.
He is a member of the Edmonton Host Lions Club. He
is willing to has his experiences and knowledge with other and appreciates the
opportunity to serve as your District Governor 2009 - 2010.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR DAVE DALBY DG Dave
was born in Provost, AB, the first of two children in the Dalby house. Raised on
a farm in the Czar area, Lion Dave graduated from Hughenden Central High in
1961. He attended University of Alberta, Department of Education, and then
taught school for 9 years before moving on.
He joined Hughenden Lion’s Club in 1988, and transferred to the Smoky Lake Lions
Club in l990.
He has served his Club as President twice, Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership
Chair. At the Cabinet level Lion Dave has served six years Zone chair in 37B,
and four years as Lions Foundation of Canada Chair in District 37-I.
District Governor Dave received a Melvin Jones Fellowship from 37B Cabinet. And
has also been presented with the International Presidents Certificate of
Appreciation.
DG Dave has attended numerous mid-winter conferences, MD and District
Conventions. And he has attended the USA CANADA LIONS LEADERSHIP FORUM in
Edmonton, and Saskatoon, as well as the MD37 Regional Leadership Institute in
Calgary in 2005.
DG Dave married his High School sweetheart Kathleen in l962. They have 3
daughters and 6 grandchildren which keep them busy. Lion Kathleen is a member of
the Smoky Lake Lions Club, and Lions Kathleen and Dave have resided in Smoky
Lake area since 1990.
DG Dave is a hunter and it’s hard to get any work out of him in the fall.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR FRED WALTERS I
was elected Vice District Governor at the 30th annual convention in Kananaskis
in March 2008 and I appreciate your trust and faith that I will serve in this
capacity to the best of my ability.
I have been married to
my wife Marion for 49 years and we have three children, Janus, John and Janean
and also have five grandchildren.
I believe in Lionism
and have worked in Beiseker for Lions since 1996 and have served as Vice
President, President and Secretary.
My work in the
District and has been Zone Chairman for Zone 1A and serve 3 years in Cabinet.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR PAM BEYER
District Governor Pam is a
native of New York where she received her education. She transplanted to the
west coast and married her husband David and raised four children. Pam has taken
many certified lions courses including Regional Lions Leadership Institute;
Certified Guiding Lion; Quest Training and DG Elect Seminar Training.
Pam is the recipient of
multiple lionistic awards including : Certificate of Appreciation (Pres. J.
Ross); President’s Commendation (Pres. A. Brandel); Club award for Tail Twister,
President’s Advisor, Club award for Club President, Club award for Sight First
II and Zone Chair.
Besides her service with Lions,
Pam is active in the community with the Chamber of Commerce; Community Theater;
Literacy Volunteer; Detention Center Visitation; Youth Mentor and Sunday School
Teacher.
She has set her goals high for
this Lionistic year with the aim to start 3 new clubs; 100 guiding lions and an
increase in Family Members including women and youth. Her aim is to improve the
visibility and understanding of Lionism, foster community collaboration and
partnership along with utilizing the advantages of media coverage.
Pam feels that by working with
local rally workshops; MERL Team leadership development and GMT Workshops we can
increase the membership within our existing club.
Pam would like to foster better
communication between clubs, zones and the district by direct communication and
linking up local clubs.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR JERRY SMITH
Jerry
resides in Havre. Montana with
his wife Diana. A native Montana. Jerry was born and raised in Livingston.
Montana. Jerry attended Montana State University, where he met Diana and
graduated with a bachelors degree in Eglish and Theatre Arts with a minor in
Speech.
After working in radio and
teaching high school English, Speech and Drama, Jerry tried his hand
as all
entrepreneur in the bar and card business. Jerry has been active in City
Council. Parent/Teacher
Organization. various education committees. Crime Stoppers and sat on the Board
of Directors for the Southwest Montana Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Program.
In 1983 after a three year detour in the bar and cafe business. Jerry joined the
Park County (Montana; Sheriffs Department as a Detention Officer. later a Deputy
Sheriff and finally Jail Administrator. In 1989 lie went to work for the Montana
State Corrections Department as a Probation/Parole Officer and in 1999 became a
Probation Parole Officer II supervising Probation/Parole Officers in Havre.
Shelby and Cut Bank. Montana and Institutional Probation/Parole Officers at the
Prison in Shelby. Montana.
With the exception
of Treasurer,
Jerry has held all offices in die Havre Lions Club and has held the Zone 10
Chairman position for three years. Jerry is a Club Officer Trainer
and is a Life Member of the Montana Lions Sight
and Hearing Foundation. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow. enjoys attending
Lions Conventions and is looking forward to attending USA/Canada Forums
as well as an International Convention. He has been a
Lion since 1991.
Currently Jerry and Diana are
retired. Diana after thirty seven years of teaching elementary. They keep busy
doing volunteer work. substitute teaching. and Jerry is a substitute Judge
sitting in for the Justice of the Peace and City Judge in Havre when the
occasion arises. He also works as bailiff for the various
courts as needed. They ace active in St.
Marks Episcopal Church in Havre where Diana is Church Organist.
Jerry and
Diana have two daughters currently working in the educational field. Sarah as a
Speech
Pathologist and Jessica as a Special Education Teacher. Jerry and Diana
enjoy spending time with their
children and grandchildren. three boys, and hopes for a granddaughter
in the future. Jerry is looking forward to a
great year as District Governor and looks forward to working with all Lions but
particularly with new Lions to help them understand the importance of
Lionism in service to the many people who need a helping hand.
